The 1960s saw the emergence of the clever, short-haired Devon Rex breed in England. Their huge ears, wavy coats, hypoallergenic hair, and thin bodies are some of their best-known features. This species of cat is intelligent enough to pick up challenging tricks, and they even know their owner’s name as well as their own.
Active, mischievous, lively, and very people-oriented, Devon’s are the norm. They’ve been called “a monkey in a cat suit” or, more famously, a mix between a dog, a monkey, and a cat. They will attempt to take over any area big enough to accommodate them since they are high jumpers. Because of this characteristic, they are frequently discovered in strange crevices like laundry baskets, shelves or closets.
