Surrogacy is an assisted reproductive technology treatment in which the infertile couples who are not able to bear pregnancy can hire a surrogate mother in Russia for carrying a pregnancy on their behalf. It is an arrangement that legally binds the parties involved in the process through an agreement. The surrogate mother is assigned the duty of carrying the baby in her womb for nine months and renounces any parental rights on the child once it is delivered to the intended parents. The legal and parental rights on the child are transferred to the intended parents and they take the responsibility of taking care of the child borne by the surrogate mother.
